Changes to Show Rules

Show Coordinators and Secretaries please take note. There has been a change to the policy governing all Sieger Shows (GSSCC Conformation Shows).

The new policy is:

61(e) Entrants (owners and handlers) for all dogs entered in all the classes (male and female) for any Sieger Show (Club, Region or Canadian Championship) must be members of the GSSCC or a WUSV affiliate club. All Canadian residents must be GSSCC members.

Previously, the entrants for the puppy and young dog classes did not have to be GSSCC members – but paid an extra $5.00 fee if they were not members.
The primary reason for this change is for continued insurance coverage and to ensure the GSSCC and the hosting club is covered by insurance in the case of an incident.

Note that if the handler and the owner are not the same person, both will need to be GSSCC members, not just one or the other. In addition, Canadian residents, handlers and owners, must be GSSCC members.
If a dog is co-owned (two or more owners listed) then only one of the owners needs to be a GSSCC member.
It will still be possible to sign up entrants as members of the GSSCC on the day of the show, so be sure to have some forms handy, or the link to the online sign up.
Entrants who are not resident in Canada can be WUSV affliate club members (i.e. the USCA – United Schutzhund Clubs of America or the GSDCA – German Shepherd Dog Club of America).
